One: Origins of Seicho-No-Ie
Seicho-No-Ie* is nondenominational
and is based on the belief that all religions emanate from One
Universal God. It is dedicated to spreading the Truth that
we are children of God, and therefore we are divine in nature
and possess all the attributes and creative powers of God.
The message of Seicho-No-Ie is not new, yet it has the capacity
to satisfy our deepest desire for something more out of life.
Seicho-No-Ie was founded in Japan
in 1930 by Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi. A fervent seeker of the
Truth, Dr. Taniguchi dedicated many years of intensive study to
different philosophies and religions until one day, while in
deep meditation, he received the first of a series of divine
inspirations that were to form the basis of what he called the
Humanity Enlightenment Movement.
After receiving these inspirations,
Dr. Taniguchi began spreading the teachings to others.
Many miraculous healings took place - people found health,
harmony, and prosperity after listening to or reading his
inspired teachings.
Dr. Taniguchi's message is simple
and direct, and it can transform lives. It is that each
one of us can reach spiritual fulfillment when we come to
realize the God-consciousness within us. Our lives are
meant to be harmonious, joyful, and fulfilling in every respect.
Through the power of the mind, we can improve our physical
condition and environment by replacing negative thoughts and
beliefs with positive ones.
We can awaken to our true divinity
through a method of prayerful meditation called Shinsokan
(meditation to visualize God), which is taught at the
various Truth of
Life centers. As Jesus said, "The kingdom of
God is within you," and the practice of Shinsokan is a
way to make the kingdom of God a living reality.
*Seicho-No-Ie means "The Home of
Infinite Life, Wisdom, and Abundance."
